The Renowned Shayar

A very down to earth personality,Moin Ahsan Jazbi was born on 21st August,1912.He has made remarkable achievements in his life. Jazbi as a kid was not at all interested in the field of science, & Urdu Poetry was a part of his life.At the age of 17, came his first Nazm "Fitrat Ek Muflis ki Nazar mien" that astonished everyone.His Nazms and shers were very deep and heart touching,showing the very reality of human life.
Jazbi passed his high school in 1929 and did his intermediate from Agra's St. Johns College where he got a new friend Asrarul Haq Majaz.He then took admission in Delhi's Anglo Arabic college and completed his B.A. from there only.In the year 1941,Jazbi shifted to Aligarh,did his MA in Urdu and Phd on "Hali(well known Urdu poet)" from Aligarh Muslim University.He got appointed as a lecturer and then a reader of urdu in AMU itself.
Earlier his pen name was Malaal but he changed it to Jazbi.Being a very nice natured,humorous and charming person,Jazbi was also a friend,a helping hand for the poor & the needy.His each and every word were golden points.He was brought up in a culture of Shero-Adab. From the age of 6,he was interested in learning ghazals and Nazms of the famous poets like Ghalib, Hali ,Iqbal ,Ismail merathi alongwith his studies that aroused his curiosity to know about the world of Shayari.No one had the knowledge that his interest would make him world famous poet and a boon to Urdu poetry.Moreover, his ghazal MARNE KI DUAIEN is one of the greatest works ever.
His golden works are engraved with the title MAJMUA KALAM in the form of FAROZAN ,SUKHANE-MUKHTASAR & GUDAZE SHAB which are his collection of poetry.
KULLIYAT-E-JAZBI,edited by his son Prof. Sohail Ahsan Jazbi incorporates all his above works, in addition to his poems written after 1985.KULIYAT-E-JAZBI was published by Sahitya Academy (New Delhi) ,Govt. of India in 2006.
While being a good person he was a good father,a good husband and a good grandfather.Jazbi took his last breath on 13th Feb,2005 peacefully with the whole family near him.
